Born in March 1985 in Masvingo, he did his Primary and Secondary education in Gutu District. He grew up showing artistic talent. When he was young, he did wood carving, making cooking sticks, hoes, and bowls. He relocated to Harare, where he met Liffart Gonde, a renowned stone carver. Under Gonde’s tutelage, Mutuke started off as a stone washer and polisher. He then learnt the ropes and started carving, later going solo. He sculpts full time at the Chitungwiza Arts Centre.
