Edson Kagadza

Edson was born in 1982 in Chiweshe, Zimbabwe. He grew up in a village abundant with precious Opal stone. While attending his primary education, his brother was already sculpting, and through seeing and assisting his brother during the weekends, it was easy for him to emulate the skills. In 2001, Edson then took time to dive into Art with his brother. After a year of experience, he began working on his own style, not far from that of his brother. Edson mainly focuses on women washing their hair and birds. He primarily uses opal stone and cobalt stone in his works.

Edson’s outstanding work has won him the 2017 NAMA Merit Awards and the 3-Dimensional Art award, both accolades indicative of his great ability and potential.
